Grapo s.r.o. was established in Olomouc in the Czech Republic in 1999 as a partner company of 'Radim Králík Grapo' which was formed in 1994. Grapo s.r.o. is a young company producing printing machines, advertising and producing leading technologies in the field of digital print and using compact materials
(PVC sheets, glass, plexiglass, paper, self-adhesive paper, tile, banner paper, foam, textile, wood etc). Grapo is a major player in the advertising arena in the Czech Republic and is also a very quickly developing technology company.
The decision to begin to design and manufacture our own digital printer was made by our sister company 'Radim Králík Grapo'. This is a successful advertising agency established in Olomouc during 1994.
Originally, the company built the first printer just for it's own use. Then in response to the huge expansion of the UV printers market as well as interest from some existing customers and specialists, two machines were then developed into the current OCTOPUS II. In 2007 Grapo presented MANTA, large format flatbed UV printer.
Today, Grapo is based at Šlechtitelů 1, 772 00, Olomouc, where it offers to customers administrative and production area as large as 8000m². Grapo employs 97 fulltime employees, who make sure of non-problematic and continuous work flow.
Since Grapo started with production of UV printers, we have built up a strong network of distributors who trade/distribute and provide technical support for the printers all over the world.
Grapo R&D team is currently developing a new machine based on XAAR 760 printheads and we'd like to introduce this printer within the next 2 months.
As we continue our close cooperation with the advertising agency agency 'Radim Králík Grapo' , we have first-hand experience in using our printers. This is a big advantage, because we understand what print suppliers really need and it helps our development team to go forward quickly. The demand for UV digital printing rises worldwide. One of the reasons is the lower cost of digital printing. Whilst the 'traditional' printing methods are often profitable only with mass production (for instance more than 1000 pieces), in digital printing the setup and stand-by costs are very low and it is even profitable to print only 1 piece. Internationally, most customers now place orders from 100 to 200 pieces and it is due to this demand that print suppliers are turning to flexible digital equipment.
